Fun Facts About Me

I am exceptionally unique

I'm scared of dolls

I'm absolutely convinced that dolls are secretly plotting world domination, their creepy stares and eerie grins are just a cover for their diabolical plans. Every creak of the floorboards is like a sinister whisper of their nighttime scheming. Call it intuition or just plain paranoia, but I can't shake the feeling that these dolls are up to something far more sinister than meets the eye.

I have a special sense

My autism grants me a remarkable gift: the ability to deeply understand and empathise with others on a level that few can comprehend. It's this intuitive insight into people's thoughts and emotions that sets me apart as a coach, allowing me to forge powerful connections and offer truly impactful guidance. While my autism may present challenges at times, it also grants me a unique power to help others unblock hidden hurts and navigate their journey towards healing and growth.

I was on a most wanted list

Once upon a time, I unexpectedly found myself on a most-wanted list.  While I'm tempted to share the full tale, it's one of those stories best left to the imagination. However, I assure you, there's no cause for concern; I'm certainly no criminal mastermind. Rest assured, my name was successfully cleared from the list. But if you're curious about the details, perhaps over a cup of tea, I might be persuaded to share more of this captivating saga.

I love to sing

You'll often catch me singing "Black Velvet" at karaoke nights, where I love showcasing my vocal range and adding my unique flair to the performance. Whether effortlessly hitting those high notes or injecting my style, I enjoy expressing myself through music and bringing joy to others. So, if you need some entertainment, just cue up 'Black Velvet, and I'll happily share my passion for creativity and authenticity through song.

My Vision of Them

Each and every one of us, including young people, have the right to our own opinions and communicate our own views and ideas to others, as well as receive information, without fear of repercussions or censorship. And yet, we are living in a society of angry and offended people, who cancel culture and quash the voice of many.

I was affected by adult anger as a child, and I was often told that children should be seen and not heard. This fundamentally diminished my own self-worth, and trust in others and caused the development of depression. Furthermore, I often hear from many young people that they don’t know how to tell their parents, or their teacher, just how their angry behaviour makes them feel, and most believe they don’t have the right to share their thoughts either.

However, I refer to and summarise Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which states that ‘Every child has the right to express their views, feelings, and wishes in all matters affecting them, and to have their views considered and taken seriously’. And Article 13; ‘Every child must be free to express their thoughts and opinions’.

In view of this, I am on a mission to share my own lived experience, to defend the rights of the child, and promote the #MyVoiceMatters project to every young person, to encourage them that their voice matters.

It’s easier to build strong children than restore broken adults – with this in mind, it is my vision that all young people globally, will each have their own Anger Advocate. In addition to this, I aim to train other mental wellbeing professionals to become Positive Anger Coaches, who will support young people to use their anger positively, to help build their self-confidence, and develop assertive communication skills, so that they can flourish and thrive in all areas of their life.

Using anger positively develops emotionally intelligent children. They then will grow into healthy functioning adults, who will be able to use non-violent communication, which in turn will positively contribute to developing peace across the world.

My Position in The World

Activist - Coach - Educator

A pioneer in anger-informed coaching, I founded Ascend Together CIC with a mission to improve the lives of young people affected by anger. Dedicated to the promotion of positive anger in schools, I have changed how teachers respond to aggressive behaviour and disruptive classroom situations.

I hold a master’s degree in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology and am currently researching the psychological perspectives of anger in education as part of my PhD.

It can be hard but also rewarding as I manage multiple businesses. I have received several awards for my achievements as an entrepreneur, as well as my contributions to social progress and development.

Among other contributions, I wrote a chapter in the book Addressing Multicultural Needs in School Guidance and Counseling, as well as articles on cultivating mental health for Brainz Magazine.

Besides being a researcher, writer and serial entrepreneur, I am a TEDx speaker, painter and a mother of four children.

I am also autistic
